Hangji Village is located in the southern part of Lyudongshan Town, Baojing County. In Miao language, “Hang” means canyon, and “Ji” means water pool or tea. People who love water translate Hangji as a canyon with water pools, while tea growers translate it as a canyon full of tea trees.
Baojing Golden Tea is a pillar industry of Hangji Village. The Baojing Golden Tea grown here has a special chestnut aroma and is very popular with tea lovers. With the development of Baojing Golden Tea, the village is surrounded by tea gardens.
Hangji is surrounded by mountains and valleys, and is built on a towering ridge against the mountain. The tiled houses are scattered among the mountains and rivers, with streams winding back and ravines crisscrossing.
The mountains, canyons and rivers of Hangji Village are created by nature. To protect natural resources, Hangji Village only allows the original Miao houses to be rebuilt.
